Yesterday was the BAYB Garden Party at Cold Springs Flower Farm! This is my third time attending a BAYB (Brag About Your Business) event, so I saw quite a few familiar faces and met several new ones too!
I love that Tash puts these events together. It's a great way to meet up and network with a bunch of other local women in business. Owning your own business can be daunting and isolating. I work from home, so attending events is probably less than 1% of my job right now. The majority of my work happens in my office at home, sitting at my computer locked in my own head while I write or do the endless, thankless job of marketing and promoting my books. This past year, I've also started doing more formatting jobs with my formatting side-gig, Heritage Creek Formatting.
I always try to jump at the opportunity to get out there and do an event. It gives me a change of scenery and something different to look out for.
At yesterday's BAYB Garden Party, everyone dressed up in pretty dresses and discussed their highlights and their businesses before we all got to make our own fresh cut flower bouquets. We played a fun little game and enjoyed tasty treats from Frosted Flour Co.
I love these events because they not only are a great networking opportunity, but they make me feel revitalized and they get me thinking about the next steps and goals for my business.
P.S. If you're local to Northumberland and run your own business, you can sign up for the waitlist for Tash's future BAYB events here.
